Shanghai. December 1. INTERFAX-CHINA - China's software industry generated total revenues of RMB 769.12 billion ($112.58 billion) in the first ten months of 2009, up 20.2 percent year-on-year, according to figures released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Dec. 1.
Between January and October, revenues generated by the software products sector contributed RMB 268.43 billion ($39.29 billion), or 34.9 percent, to total industry revenues, an increase of 20.6 percent year-on-year.
The software services sector was the fastest growing sector, generating revenues of RMB 166.26 billion ($24.34 billion), up 26 percent year-on-year. Within this sector, revenues generated by software outsourcing services increased by 42.7 percent year-on-year to RMB 22.5 billion ($3.29 billion) during the same period.
Revenues generated from the system integration software, embedded software and IC design software sectors hit RMB 176.37 billion ($25.82 billion), RMB 138.73 billion ($20.31 billion) and RMB 19.33 billion ($2.83 billion) respectively between January and October.
The value of software exports reached $14.33 billion over the ten-month period, up 42.1 percent on an annual basis, of which the value of software outsourcing to foreign markets totaled $1.74 billion, up 30.5 percent year-on-year.
